Honey Bucket once again had the privilege of serving Ragnar’s Wasatch Back this year. 2013 marked the 10 year anniversary of Wasatch Back. To celebrate, Utah’s governor’s office announced that the fourth Saturday in June will be “Utah Ragnar Day.” It is now an “unofficial official holiday in the state of Utah.” – (see running.competitor.com for more information)
This year’s Wasatch Back had approximately 18,000 “Ragnarians, whom we served with over 700 Honey Buckets. There were so many teams, they had to spread their start times over two days! It was quite a chore keeping up with so many (wicked fast) people using so many buckets over such a huge distance, but we pulled it off without a hitch.
Here at Honey Bucket, however, the race has only begun. Our next adventure we’re gearing up for is the NW Passage that starts July 19th (Click here for more info). This race begins around the Washington/Canadian border and winds its way down to Whidbey Island in the middle of the Puget Sound – 196 miles.
We’re also preparing for another Utah race, but this time a brand new Ragnar Trail Run! This race takes its runners up to Snowbasin Resort – high in the Wasatch Mountains (August 16-17).
Stay tuned for updates on more of our adventures!
What is Ragnar? –> “You and 11 of your craziest friends (or 5 of your crazier friends for an ultra team) pile into two vans and tag team running 200(ish) miles, day and night, relay-style. Only one runner hits the road at a time. Each participant runs three times, with each leg ranging between 3-8 miles and varying in difficulty. So, from the elite runner down to the novice jogger, it’s the perfect race for anyone.” –> http://www.ragnarrelay.com/ragnar
