“etiquette”
Taking care of business in a portable toilet isn’t the same as using your home bathroom. It probably won’t be as clean and certainly isn’t spacious, but there’s no excuse for you not to take great care when using one.

Portable restrooms are necessary amenities for outdoor work sites and large events in Taylor, TX where the number of attendees could reach tens of thousands. It’s a situation that could get messy very quickly, but if everybody does their part to keep things tidy, going to the bathroom in a portable rental doesn’t have to be a bad experience.

Please try to consider all of the people who have to go in after you. Here are some essential etiquette tips for using a portable restroom.

Don’t Stay Too Long

“peoplewaiting”If you’re at the club or a family get-together at home, the bathroom might be a good and quiet place to freshen up, make a phone call, send a few text messages or even take a break from what’s going on.

Portable toilets, on the other hand, are not the place for this. Depending on where you are, there could be dozens of people lined up and desperate to do their thing.

It may be difficult to find privacy, but if you’re somewhere with portable rentals, it’s rude to make people wait for the facilities longer than necessary. There’s no need to rush, but please do your make-up or fiddle with your phone elsewhere.

Leave It Better Than You Found It

“leavebetter”There’s nothing worse when entering a portable toilet than finding a nasty mess left behind by a previous visitor.

It can’t be stated enough that these facilities are meant for use by a large number of people, and it’s disrespectful to everybody else if you don’t clean up after yourself.

Being in a situation where you’re forced to use a portable restroom isn’t ideal, but that’s no excuse not to be respectful and practice general cleanliness. Please be kind and do your best to leave your portable rental better than when you found it.

Make sure any toilet paper goes where it’s supposed to, get rid of any residue, and leave the seat down. The people lined up behind you will greatly appreciate it.

Don’t Dispose of Trash Inside the Potty

“notrash”Trash cans might be few and far between where you are, but that doesn’t mean you should toss your garbage here. Portable restrooms are not an alternative to wastebaskets.

Plastic wrappers, bottles and other non-biodegradable items can actually clog up the works, forcing a portable toilet to be shut down. And one fewer spot for people to do their business isn’t helpful at all.

If you’re in a place where there aren’t many trash cans, it’s better for everybody else, not to mention the environment, for you to come up with a plan to dispose of your garbage at a later time.
